João Valadas Coriel is a lawyer and managing partner at VCA – Valadas Coriel & Associados, a firm he founded in 2001 with a clear focus on advising private clients, family offices, and companies through a strategic, cross-disciplinary, and international approach.
He currently oversees all departments at the firm and is frequently called upon to lead teams in complex, multijurisdictional matters. Over the years, he has become a trusted advisor to individuals, families, foundations, and corporations, known for his ability to find practical solutions and move things forward.
João is a member of STEP – the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, one of the leading international organisations in the private client field. He is also a qualified international arbitrator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and a certified tax expert by ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management.
He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the International Bar Association’s Senior Lawyers’ Committee and sits on the Steering Committee of the American Bar Association’s International Private Client Committee.
