Taxpayers have until February 17 to confirm or update their household composition with the Tax and Customs Authority (AT).
This procedure must be carried out through the Portal das Finanças and ensures that tax information accurately reflects the current family situation.
If no update is made within the deadline, the AT will automatically assume the data from the previous year, which may affect the calculation of IRS and the allocation of tax benefits.
To avoid future issues, taxpayers are advised to check and, if necessary, update their information in a timely manner on the Portal das Finanças.
