Foreign citizens who have legally entered Portugal, who are registered and in a regularized situation with Social Security and who have a proven employment relationship can request a manifestation of interest to obtain a residence permit in Portugal.
Through the SAPA Portal – a platform provided by the Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) – it is possible to register a manifestation of interest, under the terms of Articles 88(2) and 89 of Law No. 23/2007, of July 4, concerning, respectively, employees and self-employed entrepreneurs.
This request does not correspond to an online appointment. After analysing the manifestation of interest, the Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) will contact the citizen to schedule a visit to a service location to present the necessary documents for this purpose.
Through this Portal it is also possible to consult the situation, change the data or cancel the manifestation of interest already presented. For more information contact:
