With this measure, those entering the country as tourists will be able to apply for a residence permit without the prior need for a job-seeking visa.

The new legislation also introduces other significant changes:

  1. A new format for the CPLP certificate: The CPLP certificate, previously issued on an A4 paper document, will now be a card, aligning with European Union standards. This change will facilitate mobility within the Schengen Area, allowing document holders to travel more easily between European countries.
  2. Extended validity period: The residence permit will now be valid for two years instead of just one, providing greater stability for immigrants and reducing the bureaucracy associated with renewal.

Despite its enactment, the effective implementation of the law still depends on regulatory measures.

Currently, the portal of the Agency for Integration, Migration, and Asylum (AIMA), where the residence application under the new law should be submitted, is not yet operational for this purpose.
